Due to high demand, we are now offering our map boards as stand-alone products so you can purchase them without purchasing entire field geology kits! Our map boards contain no metal that can affect compass measurements, and they form a flat surface that is handy for extending or leveling measurement planes. They are composed of two 11x14x0.1" plexiglass sheets that are carefully hinged together with colorful, hardy tape that withstands field use. When opened, our board forms a flat 22x14" working surface. Velcro closures help keep the boards closed. Masking or drafting tape holds map projects to various board surfaces. A hardy plastic folder is attached to the back surface to organize and protect other papers in the field. Closed map boards fit in standard day packs or can be creatively carried between the pack and the back!
Because we order items in bulk and sometimes wholesale, our prices are lower than you can find when ordering items separately. Plus you save on shipping costs by only paying for shipping once!
If your department has specific field equipment items or quantities that are not contained in our kits, contact us about customization possibilities. If kits are ordered in bulk (more than 10), we would be happy to customize kits that meet your needs!
